How Those Closest To You Influence Your Success

Imagine you grew up in a household of underachievers. Now imagine you climbed up in family members of top achievers. How would your viewpoint differ today?

You can not change your past, but you'll be able to influence your future by choosing the people in your life attentively. The people around you shape your expectations and beliefs.

Surround yourself With supportive high-achievers:

1. People could be either supportive or unsupportive. Have you ever paid attention to the number of people that wish you well but afterward seem to sabotage your efforts?

The majority of the people in life want one to prosper, provided that you're not doing better than they truly are. Have you ever heard these announcements after declaring a bold goal or aim?

  • "Are you sure you want to do that? Remember that moment you desired to _______ also it didn't work out?"
  • "What do you want to do if your business idea fails?"
  • "I could never lose that much weight. I enjoy eating Twinkies so much."
  • Are these types of statements intended to be helpful?

2. Network. Those around you can introduce you to brand new circles. Some will ultimately become your friends, mentors, or business contacts.

  • Every individual you know already knows lots of people you do not. These individuals are valuable resources.

3. These people can show you new things. Everybody has something to teach you. Are you hanging out with the right people to learn precisely the things you want to understand?

4. They affect your attitude and expectations.

  • Imagine you are a realtor and your spending some time with a successful realtor in your city. You earned $100,000 last year, and she earned $1,000,000.
  • You call five expired listings each day and send 50 postcards per week to potential clients. You learn that your new friend calls every expired list each day and sends out tens of thousands more weekly. She even has two full-time assistants to manage her workload.
  • She is also doing tons of promotions you've never considered.
  • Consider how this could change your own life. You suddenly understand that you are not working nearly as hard or as creatively as possible.

Are you currently choosing to spend time with people that inspire and empower you? Are you spending time with people that struggle with life and undermine your best efforts to excel?

Now you choose how much time you spend with people that matter. Choose intelligently, and you'll experience higher degrees of success.

To your success,
